Ray Wylie Hubbard
From Austin we drove to Waco, only to attend the concert of Ray Wylie Hubbard. I've enjoyed his music for many years, and it was fantastic to see this hero live. He also wrote a very entertaining autobiography by the way. Recommended!

Last show of 2018
For our last Shantycrew concert of this year I wanted to make a nice poster to make sure the place will be packed. First I wanted to use the bulldog logo of the bar, but it was too cartoony. So I made it more alive and added a singing sailorfish for company. Looking forward to the show!

Diary sketches
I kept a diary during my latest trip through Texas, and made a bunch of sketches and notes that need to be drawn. Here's a first few:
First night out in Austin we met a funy bunch of new friends at the Crow Bar.

The drunk guy in the middle was about to get his ass kicked out of the Continental Club. On his birthday!

Record cover for The Jerry Hormone Ego Trip
Dutch enfant terrible Jerry Hormone himself commisioned a record cover, and it was a blast working on this thing. Inspired by the great recordcovers by Jack Davis, this one shows the band in their natural state, swinging out of the pan! (It's a dutch expression...)
