Concert posters

We have a few shows coming up with our Shantycrew. I made two different posters based on the old design.

on the countryside

I stayed at my friend Boris' place for a week to work on a comic project. He lives in a spectacular former monastery on the dutch countryside. Awesome!

Rappers

I had to illustrate an article about football-rappers. They take themselves very seriously, but looking and listening to the guys makes one laugh quite a bit... As always with 11 FREUNDE, this stuff is fun!

50's advertisement

The cool people at Lebensbaum asked me to paint a few advertisements for some of their new teas.
First I mede some thumbnail sketches.

Then preliminary drawings:

The question was weather we could show the cigaret and the whiskey. We tried changing the whiskey bottle for an old fashioned soda shaker. The thing is, lot's of people don't know such things anymore. The legal department decided that showing the whiskey bottle was ok, but the cigaret had to go. Instead I had to make the ashtray more recognizable, not one of those fancy 50's design thingies.

I added the detox tea and the first advertisement was finished. 3 to go!

Global bio getting old

Another illustration for +3 magazine. This time I managed to put the three different themes in an illustration that kind of fits together, instead of three different images. Text and illustration form a nice spread together.

A few weeks ago my dear friend Aganebbis the lovebird died, after being with me for more than a decade. I sneaked him in the image. Might happen more often, keep an eye out for the little guy!

Plus 3

I made some new work for the october edition of +3, a monthly supplement of the Süddeutsche Zeitung. I love it how the watercolor turns out when rasterized and printed.
